Possible future of HCI
I just read a very interesting article on the past and possible future of HCI (Human Computer Interaction)
Is an HCI revolution just around the corner?
The article takes you through the ins and out of how we hav reached the present point of interaction with technology. The really interesting part is the possible future.
The mind boggles at the possibilities. You could get to science fiction proportions and would only just scratch the surface. Think of a pc with no manual interface, ie keyboard or mouse, merely a microphone. Then take that pc and put into a mobile device, a phone. Then let that phone work out where you are and then cater to your specific needs, ie eateries, shopping specials. All this because it has, over time, learned your likes and dislikes.
I could ramble on for hours but what I am saying to you is maybe take a minute or two and dream up something so fantastic that it could not happen!! Then watch it happen!!
